Hello! I recently removed all the tiles in my bathroom because I didn’t like them anymore. Now, there are no tiles on the walls or floor. Can I leave the floor and walls without tiles, or is that not allowed in a bathroom? Is there any other type of surface I could use instead of tiles?

I have already seen several bathrooms where real wood parquet or plank flooring has been installed.

If you don’t want tiles, it is possible to paint the walls in color or white and then apply a coat of Capaplex from Caperol, followed by a plastic coating (filling). This creates a transparent layer that dries like glass and is definitely 100% waterproof. If you have embossed wallpaper underneath, you can achieve nice color effects.

There are also plenty of synthetic resin fillers that are water-resistant and can be used for this purpose. For floors, concrete gray fillers can be applied, which can be sanded smooth afterward and sealed with a special coating.

There are always many options available, such as stainless steel panels for the floor, or beautiful wood sealed with marine varnish, and so on.

So, if you don’t want tiles, you can choose to paint the walls in color or white and then apply Capaplex from Caperol over it. After that, a plastic coating can be applied (using a skim coat). This creates a transparent layer that dries like glass and is definitely 100% waterproof. If you have textured wallpaper underneath, you can achieve nice color effects.

There are also plenty of synthetic resin fillers available that are water-resistant and suitable for such uses. This applies to floors as well, for example in concrete gray, which can be sanded smooth afterward and painted with a special sealant. Industrial floors!
