Good morning everyone, I am currently assembling an Ikea Platsa cabinet and looking for more efficient ways to speed up the build without sacrificing quality or stability. The instructions are clear, but I wonder if there are any special tips or proven methods in this forum to put together the individual modules faster while still doing it properly. Specifically, I’m interested in which tools are particularly useful, whether it makes sense to combine multiple steps, or if certain materials should be prepared in advance. Also, are there common pitfalls to be aware of to avoid unnecessary delays during assembly? Looking forward to your advice!

Mark all holes and screws before assembly. This prevents fastening in the wrong places and saves rework.

I would like to add that it makes sense to briefly treat the connecting parts (eccentric nuts, dowels) with a bit of wax or a small drop of lubricant before inserting them. This makes screwing them in easier later on and prevents misalignment or jamming.

Also: When working in pairs, the tasks should be well divided. One person can hold the parts while the other screws. This significantly speeds up the process.

Finally, a professional tip: Use small containers or trays to keep small parts handy and organized while working. This way, you won't lose any screws and can stay in your workflow.
