Hello everyone, I recently ordered an Ikea Pax wardrobe and now face the challenge of assembling it myself. I want to proceed as efficiently as possible and avoid unnecessary frustration. My question to the community is: What specific tools are actually needed, and in what quality, to make the Ikea Pax assembly as smooth as possible? Is the included tool sufficient, or should I also consider using a cordless drill, specific screwdrivers, or other accessories? I would really appreciate concrete recommendations, especially regarding different wardrobe sizes and possible variations of the Pax system. Thanks in advance!

A basic cordless drill driver is completely sufficient for the Pax. It is important that you can adjust the torque to avoid over-tightening the screws. Precision is not that critical since the components are solidly pre-drilled.

So far, I have assembled all my Ikea furniture using only the included tools. It takes longer, but with some patience, it works well. However, a cordless drill makes the process much easier and saves time. A stable surface and sufficient lighting are important.

Yes, especially if you plan to assemble multiple Pax wardrobes, a high-quality cordless drill with good battery capacity can make the work easier over time. Inexpensive tools often lose torque under heavier loads, which makes screwing more difficult. For a one-time assembly, however, an affordable model is sufficient. Also, be careful when applying a lot of force to avoid damaging the particleboard.

Tip: Pliers can be helpful for pressing down the staples on the back panel. Also, door hinges can often be a bit tricky – a small ratchet with Allen bits can work wonders.

Thank you for the insight; that really helps me a lot with my decision.

That was actually new to me. Are there any other small parts or tools that could make the assembly easier? I really want to avoid any unnecessary pitfalls in advance.
