I recently bought a Hemnes bed from IKEA and noticed upon unpacking that some important parts were missing – specifically the mounting screws and the central support beam for the slatted frame. My question to the community is: What is the best way to proceed if IKEA Hemnes furniture parts are missing? Are there specific contacts or procedures to get replacement parts quickly and easily? I would also be interested to hear if anyone has experience with IKEA customer service in such cases.

I have only had positive experiences: IKEA always sends missing screws or parts within a few days. Important: Have the item number and the name of the furniture ready and provide them when making an online inquiry.

In addition to contacting IKEA, I recommend carefully checking the assembly instructions for the missing parts. They include the names and numbers that are essential for ordering replacements. Important: If the parts were damaged or incorrectly delivered, this should also be clearly described to avoid any confusion.

IKEA’s spare parts service is well organized. Simply report the missing parts by phone or email, making sure to have the item number and a photo of the entire package ready.

For me, it helped to ask directly at the service desk in the IKEA store. They were able to reorder the missing Hemnes parts immediately. Alternatively, the online customer service is also very reliable.
