Good morning everyone, I’m currently trying to assemble my IKEA Brimnes wardrobe and keep running into assembly issues that make fitting parts together difficult or cause instability. What tips do you have for avoiding or fixing common mistakes when assembling the BRIMNES wardrobe? I’m especially interested in how you handle misaligned drill holes or uneven gaps, as well as advice for achieving better fit and alignment of the doors and drawers. Any help is appreciated, as I want to finish the wardrobe fairly quickly without having to take everything apart multiple times.

Thanks to everyone for your helpful and varied tips! I will carefully go through the manual again this evening, mark all the parts, and make sure everything is well-lit. I also like the idea of only tightening all the screws lightly at first. If I have any further questions, I will get in touch again. I’m confident that this will help me avoid assembly errors.

What is the current status of the Brimnes assembly? Are there still major challenges, or is everything running smoothly now?

I followed the tips and actually sorted the side panels according to the markings. That helped to avoid the misaligned drill holes. Only a small adjustment remains on the doors, but overall the wardrobe is already stable. Thanks again to everyone who helped!

Glad to hear it’s working out. For adjusting the door, you can use a ruler or feeler gauge to set the gap measurements precisely. This will help prevent squeaking and sticking later on.
