Hello,

installing large-format tiles (over 30x60cm [12x24 inches]) involves an additional charge here (more difficult to install, different adhesive, higher labor costs). How much extra have you had to pay, and what size are your tiles? What do you consider reasonable?

Best regards,
Sabine

Yes, that’s quite common. Large format generally starts at 30x60cm (12x24 inches).

We were lucky with our tiler, who didn’t charge extra for this size.

For us, it is €14.90 plus VAT per square meter for tiles that have an individual size of just over 0.20 sqm (e.g., 70 x 30 cm (27.5 x 11.8 inches))!

For us, 30x60 was included, but we chose even larger dimensions. The additional cost was reasonable at 20 euros per square meter (approximately 2 dollars per square foot).

Hi,
they even gladly charge extra twice:
  • Large format
  • Porcelain stoneware

we paid around 15 €/sqm (approximately 1.40 USD/sqft) for a 90cm x 22cm (35 inches x 9 inches) format in porcelain stoneware.

Best regards,

Andreas

Was a decoupling membrane offered in connection with the large-format tiles?
We would still have to pay 30 € per square meter (approximately $30 per square meter)!
