Hello everyone,

I have an issue with my IKEA Besta furniture. Some spare parts I urgently need are apparently no longer available from IKEA. My question is therefore: What exactly should I do if spare parts for IKEA Besta are no longer obtainable? Are there alternative sources or strategies to still acquire or replace such parts? I would appreciate any tips, as I do not want to replace the entire piece of furniture.

Thank you in advance!

Hello everyone,

A quick note: Some IKEA fans have shared their own spare parts lists or assembly plans online (though not officially from IKEA). This can be helpful for custom builds to check dimensions and attachment points.

Furniture community forums have also often proven to be a good source of tips and tricks. This might be an option if official channels no longer work.

An additional consideration: The authenticity of spare parts is often questionable when dealing with third-party manufacturers. Deviations may occur that can affect stability and functionality.

It is always important to weigh these factors carefully and, if possible, inquire about the material, dimensions, and load capacity before placing an order.

Thank you all for your detailed and helpful contributions!

I have now identified the part numbers through IKEA customer service; unfortunately, some components are no longer available. My next step will be to check with local carpenters and secondhand platforms.

I find the tips on self-manufacturing and the references to community resources particularly interesting. This opens up new possibilities that I had not considered before.

I will keep you updated if needed!

Finally, a recommendation: Document the dimensions and special features of the replacement parts carefully, preferably with photos and sketches. This significantly helps both when consulting third parties and when producing custom parts.

Due to the long service life, replacement parts are often very specific. Especially with Besta modules, it is important to work precisely to avoid compromising stability.

Great tip, it will save a lot of hassle later on!

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that you’ll have your Besta up and running again soon. And if you do end up doing some DIY – remember, every challenge is also an opportunity to get creative!
