Hello everyone, I am currently facing a problem while assembling my new IKEA Besta cabinet: some screws broke while being screwed in. I feel like I didn’t overtighten them, but apparently the resistance was too high or the screws’ material wasn’t strong enough. My question is, what is the best way to proceed when screws break during the Besta assembly? Should I replace the damaged screws, or is there a way to salvage them? Are there any special tools or tricks you can recommend to ensure the assembly remains stable? I am especially interested in how to remove broken screws from the drilled holes without damaging the cabinet frame. I would appreciate any experience or advice!
Great, thanks for all the helpful explanations! I definitely won’t be screwing in the screws using my full body weight, but will work carefully.
One last question: Is there a recommendation on which type of screwdriver or cordless drill to use for IKEA Besta? My cordless drill has a lot of torque, but I’m concerned that I might apply too much force with it.

For Besta, I recommend using a screwdriver with a torque limiter or a cordless drill driver with adjustable torque settings. This helps prevent over-tightening, which can cause screws or the material to break. Additionally, a Phillips screwdriver with a well-fitting tip is important to avoid slipping.
If you use a cordless drill driver, set the torque as low as possible and, if necessary, switch to manual mode for better control.
