Hello everyone,

I am currently facing an issue with my recently purchased Ikea Brimnes bed, where several screws are missing. I checked the parts during unpacking, and now during assembly, I realize that certain connecting screws are simply not in the package. I am particularly interested in the best approach when screws are missing from an Ikea Brimnes set:
- Should I contact Ikea directly, or are there more efficient options?
- How reliable is customer service in these situations?
- Are there alternatives to ordering replacement screws, such as sourcing spare parts independently?
- And what should I do if I have already partially assembled the bed and do not want to start over completely?

I look forward to your experiences and tips on how to solve my problem in a practical and as stress-free way as possible.

Hey Kibabla!

I had the exact same issue with my Brimnes bed! 😃 Don’t worry, it’s definitely fixable!

My advice: Contact Ikea right away with the part number and a description of the missing screws. They usually respond quickly and send the screws free of charge! 👍 I’ve had great experiences with this—they want their customers to be happy!

If you’re in a hurry, you can temporarily use suitable screws from a hardware store (preferably with a similar size and length), but be careful not to use screws that are too strong—otherwise, the material might not hold properly.

Don’t give up, it will work out for sure! Good luck!!!

Hello Kibabla,

I would like to go into more detail on this topic, as missing screws in Ikea furniture are unfortunately quite common, and the solution often requires a more nuanced approach.

First, it is important to precisely identify which screws are missing. I recommend:
- Carefully studying the assembly instructions and looking up the part numbers of the screws.
- Checking any markings or labels on the screw packaging.

After that, you can contact Ikea, preferably via their customer service hotline or the online contact form. You should:
- Provide the article number of the furniture piece.
- Describe as precisely as possible which screws are missing (possibly with photos of the package contents).

Ikea has a well-organized spare parts service and will send missing parts at low cost or sometimes free of charge. However, processing can take a few days. If you have already started assembling, I would suggest:
- Temporarily replacing the part with one from a hardware store or from what you have on hand, if you can find suitable screws there.
- Avoid forcing screws that do not fit exactly, as this can compromise stability.

Another option might be to ask local Ikea retailers if they provide spare parts directly to customers.

In summary, I recommend a combined approach:
- Contact Ikea directly.
- Meanwhile, obtain suitable replacements from a hardware store.

If you like, feel free to specify exactly which screws are missing. Then I may be able to offer more specific advice.

Hello Kibabla,

I can confirm the advice from Ernesto and fepau and would like to add a few practical tips on how to proceed if screws are missing from your Ikea Brimnes bed:

- First, stay calm! Missing screws are unfortunately quite common, and Ikea offers a fairly straightforward service.

- Check the box and the small bags thoroughly again; screws are often packed in separate small packages and can sometimes be easily overlooked.

- If you are sure parts are missing, call the Ikea hotline or visit the nearest store. Usually, the staff will assist you quickly and order the missing parts for you.

- Have your receipt and product numbers ready – this speeds up the process.

- If shipping the screws takes a few days, you can try using a suitable screw set from your local hardware store on your own – just be sure to match the exact dimensions, length, diameter, and material.

- Assemble all the parts that can be completed without the missing screws first.

- I also recommend asking customer service if they can provide you with instructions or a list of replacement parts and screws – this can sometimes help you keep a better overview.

If you have any further questions, just get in touch. Good luck with the assembly, you can do it!
