ᐅ What should I do if parts are missing from my IKEA BRIMNES?

isabel58Hello everyone, I recently bought an IKEA Brimnes bed and noticed when unpacking that some parts are missing. I have checked all the packages and the instructions several times, but I am sure that at least two screws and a crossbar are not included. I would like to know the best way to proceed in this case to get replacements. Are there any specific steps you would recommend, for example, should I go directly to IKEA or is it better to contact customer service online? Has anyone had experience with missing parts in the BRIMNES or other IKEA products? I look forward to your tips and advice so that I can assemble the bed quickly and correctly.

I once had the exact same problem with a BRIMNES wardrobe – it’s really helpful to contact IKEA customer service directly. It’s best to find the product’s item number, write down the missing parts very clearly, and explain your order and the issue over the phone or in an email. 😊
The great thing is: IKEA is usually very accommodating and often sends missing parts free of charge! 💪 It might take a few days, but their customer service generally does a great job. If you happen to be at the store, definitely ask if you can pick up the parts directly from the market. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes quickly and smoothly! 🚀😉

Oh no, that’s really frustrating with the missing parts! But don’t worry, most of us have experienced something like this with IKEA at some point 🤷♂️
I would recommend taking it easy: Make a list of the missing parts and, if possible, take photos of the individual bags (for yourself). When you contact IKEA customer service by phone or online, provide this detailed list. The staff are usually very helpful and will assist you. 🛠️✨
Additionally, IKEA has a spare parts order system where you can buy missing screws or other small components individually – this can be quite convenient if customer service takes a bit longer. And for the assembly itself: Try to avoid too much improvisation, as it can quickly lead to instability.
Good luck with the assembly; the bed will definitely look great! 😄👍

From my experience, IKEA customer service is the most efficient point of contact for missing parts. It is important to keep the following points in mind before reaching out:
- Carefully check all boxes and packaging inserts again
- Note down the item and part numbers from the assembly instructions
- Have your proof of purchase ready
- Provide an exact description of the missing parts (quantity, type, dimensions)
IKEA usually offers free shipping or pickup for replacement parts. If possible, you can also visit the nearest IKEA store directly – missing small parts can often be picked up more quickly there.
I strongly advise against buying replacements elsewhere, as original parts ensure proper fit and stability of the furniture. Ultimately, patience is needed, but replacement shipments generally arrive within a few business days.
