I hope this topic is in the right section. I received a house as a gift from my parents and am now listed as the owner in the land register.
Now I am wondering what else I need to take care of?
The homeowner’s insurance is already sorted out.
Do I need to contact the city or local authority to provide my details for costs like waste collection, etc.? I think so, but am I right?
Chimney sweep: I’ve heard that I need to get in touch with the chimney sweep and provide my details there as well.
Unfortunately, I don’t know anyone around me who has dealt with this, and for my parents it was all a long time ago.
I would really appreciate any help and tips.

First, have all the contracts, direct debit authorizations, and bank transfers related to the house that your parents have been involved with shown to you. Then, contact all these service providers (either to cancel the contracts, which your parents should handle, or to have them transferred to your name).
In particular, the bank account statements should also clarify who has been supplying electricity, gas, water, public broadcasting fees, insurance, sewage charges, etc.
