Hello everyone, I’m planning to buy a Pax wardrobe but I’m unsure about the exact dimensions I should consider to make sure it fits perfectly in my room while also providing enough storage space. Which width, height, and depth are particularly important? Maybe some of you have tips on how to ideally measure the available space and what to watch out for regarding room height. I’m also interested in whether the standard Pax sizes are flexible enough to be adjusted, or if it’s better to choose a specific combination to avoid disappointment later. Thanks for your help!

Thank you for the detailed answer, that helps me a lot! To be absolutely sure: Do you have any tips on how to accurately measure the room height when the ceiling is slightly sloped? I want to avoid miscalculating and then having the wardrobe not fit. Also, I’m interested to know if certain parts can be replaced later on, in case something doesn’t fit perfectly.

Good question! With a sloped ceiling, you should take measurements at several points:
- Directly on the wall where the cabinet will stand, as well as half a meter (about 20 inches) or a full meter (about 40 inches) to the left and right of that spot. This way, you’ll identify the lowest and highest points.
- It’s best to draw a sketch noting the measured heights at each point.
- Important: The cabinet modules are fixed, meaning their height cannot be adjusted. However, you can combine individual units (e.g., several 35 cm (14 inches) high units).
- If the height at the highest point is sufficient, you can screw the cabinet there and adapt it to the sloped wall with a trim panel.
- For replacements: doors can be exchanged easily, and shelves are flexible. Swapping modules individually is more difficult because the base frames are firmly installed. Therefore, I recommend carefully considering how much storage space you need before ordering.

Hello Onraj, to add a bit more to your question: also consider whether you want sliding doors or traditional hinged doors, since hinged doors require space in front of the wardrobe and affect the dimensions. Sliding doors need more width but do not protrude forward. It is also important to make efficient use of the wardrobe, for example with internal fittings like drawers, hanging rods, or adjustable shelves, which often do not increase the interior space but make it more practical. You should also think about how much and what type of clothing you want to store.

One more note: Pax also offers smaller units with a depth of 35 cm (14 inches), which are suitable for hallways or areas with limited space, but the storage capacity is limited. Before purchasing, you should consider the actual space, including with the doors open. It can also be helpful to do a trial run with boxes to get a sense of the size.

Wow, so much great feedback here! I just wanted to add: once you have your measurements and have chosen a design option, also consider which extras you want – for example, lighting, built-in systems, or special interior fittings. These can also affect the dimensions and usability. I was personally impressed by the additions, as they make the cabinet much more valuable! Good luck putting it all together, it’s really fun!
