Hello,

Our bungalow has the attached wall construction (Poroton brick). Now, in the new building specification from our construction company, I noticed an additional waterproofing layer with a thick coating and dimpled membrane. This was not included in our original specification. Currently, around our bungalow, we only have what is called a splash protection (gravel) without the thick coating. We have sandy soil. Is this additional protection still necessary, or is the waterproofing with the existing slurry under the perimeter insulation sufficient?

That is certainly sufficient for a splash guard edge made of sand and gravel.
