Hello everyone,
Last summer, I built a log cabin-style house.
Since the logs settle and also expand and contract due to temperature changes, I have to attach all wall extensions on so-called sliding strips. Accordingly, I had to design my bathroom this way as well. I tiled the extensions accordingly. However, now I have ugly tile cuts along the edges next to the logs, and I want to cover them with trim. I previously used quarter-round moldings, which I nailed directly to the logs. Naturally, these fall off again over time because the logs move.
I wanted to ask you here because I can’t think of a good solution — how would you handle this?
I’ve attached a picture so you can see what I mean.
Looking forward to any tips!
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Lehry

Hi,
first of all, thank you for your response.
Yes, I could leave the joints uncovered until the house has settled. But since that takes about two years and I would prefer the joints to be covered, that’s too long for me.
I have to admit that it’s not very clear in the photo. To give you a better idea and so you might better understand why I want the joints covered, I will take a clearer picture this evening and post it. :-)
Maybe you can take another look then!?
Thanks and best regards
