can someone tell me which DIN standard specifies the required distance between downpipes and the exterior wall of a building? Is there any regulation on this at all, or can the metal worker freely choose the distance (for example, even no distance from the wall)?

nordanney8 Jul 2018 21:08I have 2cm (1 inch) in mind (but to my knowledge, this is not specified in any DIN standard).
How can a gap of 0 be possible? The clamps alone already create a gap of about 2-3cm (1-1.2 inches).

@nordanney 2cm (1 inch) gap from the raw wall and the plasterer just went ahead and did it.
@patricia821 I wouldn’t accept that and would insist on a correction. The sound transmission can be significant, especially if it’s a timber-framed house with external insulation (ETICS).
