Hi everyone!
My mom moved into a newly renovated small house 11 years ago.
She had to take over the 3-month-old kitchen (3,973€ list price) for 3,200€.
Now she has been given notice for personal use...
How much can she still sell the kitchen for, and is the previous owner even required to take it?
My mom definitely does not want to keep the kitchen! (It was all pretty low quality, I think it was from a Spanish manufacturer)
Thanks in advance

A fitted kitchen is usually depreciated over 7 years. Incorrect. A fitted kitchen is depreciated over 10 years.
Either way: it is no longer worth anything. At least not in terms of “price achievable on the open market.” In terms of “a price that two people can agree on,” it might still have some value if the former landlord apparently wants it. Just wait for an offer, ask for a little more, and that’s fine.
A tenant cannot be obligated to buy a fitted kitchen when moving in – but in that case, the landlord can simply look for another tenant. The kitchen now belongs to your mother, although it probably no longer has any residual value. Just leaving it in place? Then the owner can have it removed and disposed of at your expense. I wouldn’t take that risk.
Of course, you can try to offer the kitchen to the owner for purchase. Maybe start with around 200 euros (about $220); if they don’t agree, ask if you can leave it there. Make sure to get this confirmed in writing.
If the owner insists that the kitchen must be removed, you can try selling it through classifieds. If the appliances are still in good condition, sell them individually and try to give away the rest of the kitchen – or else have it disposed of.

The new owner wants to keep the kitchen, but the tenant refuses to give it to him. That's true!
But I’m afraid the owner knows exactly what his rights are. And it’s a very poor starting point if your mother demands an outrageous price that the kitchen is definitely no longer worth. The owner will also know that he doesn’t HAVE to buy the kitchen: so he can stay calm—and if necessary, “get back” at your mother.
