I am facing the challenge of installing several Ikea PAX wardrobes in my apartment with sloped walls. My questions are: What is the best way to adapt the IKEA PAX furniture to different slopes without unnecessarily losing storage space? Which fastening options and installation methods are recommended specifically for sloped walls to ensure stability and safety? Are there any practical tips or accessories to achieve a straight and sturdy assembly despite the slopes? I look forward to feedback and experiences so that I don’t have to improvise and can complete the installation neatly and sustainably.

I would like to offer a critical perspective: the standard Pax screws and fittings are designed for rectangular, stable walls. Adapting them to sloped walls is always a compromise. It is important to consider whether a custom-made built-in wardrobe might be a more sensible long-term solution, especially if the slope is pronounced. Otherwise, there is a risk of relying on additional reinforcements and filler pieces that may eventually fail or look unattractive. The issue of safety when attaching to the wall should also not be underestimated. For those wanting to be on the safe side, consulting a professional furniture maker is advisable.

Cool topic! 😎 I installed my PAX units under the sloped ceiling like this: I simply shaped the slope on my MDF cuttings with an angle grinder and sandpaper, which I used as spacers. Then I screwed the cabinets horizontally to the straight wall and filled the gaps with the shaped cuttings. The whole setup looked custom-made without losing much storage space! Important: Always double-check the wall mounting; otherwise, the units might wobble later. And don’t forget to securely connect the PAX modules to prevent them from moving against each other. This way, installing under sloped ceilings is really enjoyable! 😉
