Hello everyone,

I am about to assemble the IKEA Brimnes complete bed (with storage) and would like to know the best way to do this with two people.

I understand that it is a large and somewhat bulky piece of furniture, with parts that are quite heavy and awkward to handle. Therefore, I am specifically looking for tips on how to divide the work most efficiently so that the assembly process runs as smoothly and stress-free as possible.

What order of steps is recommended? Does anyone have experience with handling the heavy side panels to prevent damage? And what is the best way to coordinate when connecting the individual modules? I think it can get tricky, especially when fitting the cross beams or inserting the drawers.

So: How can the IKEA Brimnes assembly work best with two people—from preparation to the final screw—with suggestions on role distribution, helpful tools, or special tricks? Thanks in advance!

Just as a supplement: Make sure to tighten the screws on the cross braces only by hand at first and only fully tighten them after completing the full fitting check. This is especially helpful for the drawer slides.

I’m happy to help with a systematic approach:

1. Preparation: You should sort and lay out all parts according to the instructions. This will prevent searching during assembly.

2. Load-bearing/heavy parts like side panels are best lifted by two people – agree beforehand who holds which side so everything is aligned evenly and edges are not damaged.

3. Before fitting the cross braces, briefly check that all holes align correctly. This helps avoid problems later on.

4. Drawers should only be installed at the end so inside parts remain easily accessible.

5. For screws, it’s best to use a cordless screwdriver with torque control; if you don’t have one, carefully screw in by hand.

What I also recommend: Take your time and give each other feedback if something doesn’t fit or requires too much force. This prevents damage and ensures good teamwork.

I wish you great success with the assembly!
