falozarHello everyone,
I am about to assemble the IKEA Brimnes complete bed (with storage) and would like to know the best way to do this with two people.
I understand that it is a large and somewhat bulky piece of furniture, with parts that are quite heavy and awkward to handle. Therefore, I am specifically looking for tips on how to divide the work most efficiently so that the assembly process runs as smoothly and stress-free as possible.
What order of steps is recommended? Does anyone have experience with handling the heavy side panels to prevent damage? And what is the best way to coordinate when connecting the individual modules? I think it can get tricky, especially when fitting the cross beams or inserting the drawers.
So: How can the IKEA Brimnes assembly work best with two people—from preparation to the final screw—with suggestions on role distribution, helpful tools, or special tricks? Thanks in advance!

- Preparation: Sort the parts carefully and check for any damage
- Division of work: One person holds the parts in position while the other fastens or connects them
- The side panels, in particular, should be lifted and positioned together to avoid warping
- Check the cross braces for accurate fit before final assembly
- Insert the drawers only at the end to allow easier access during assembly
If possible, place heavy parts on a stable, level surface to prevent slipping. Also, use a cordless drill with adjustable torque to avoid over-tightening the screws.
I assembled the Brimnes last month and found it very helpful to carefully read the instructions before you start, so you know exactly when you really need two people to work together.
The heavy side panels are quite large—I was initially worried about scratching or damaging something. It is important to stay calm and always communicate clearly who is handling which part before you join the elements.
After the assembly, I felt good about having worked well with someone, which greatly reduced stress.
