myckraft-130 Jan 2014 20:22Hello,
we are planning a heating system renovation in our older house, which we bought as a used property. The previous owners wallpapered behind the old radiators, so today it is no longer possible to access that area without completely removing each radiator. Now I would like to take the opportunity to install a long-lasting solution behind the radiators.
How have you dealt with this issue?
After all, wallpapering probably happens more often than replacing radiators.
If I have posted in the wrong forum, please feel free to move this.
Thank you very much in advance and best regards

We also have wallpaper on ours.
I don’t personally like it that much, but it’s not something you can easily change.
Since you’re already removing all the radiators, maybe oil-based paint would be a good option. There is also special radiator paint available.
For better insulation, aluminum foil might help, but I’m not exactly sure how it affects heat transfer. It shouldn’t catch fire, though.
Since the heat is then radiated, the radiator might actually heat more efficiently.
