Hello everyone, I would like to ask about your experiences with IKEA Hemnes furniture in children's rooms. Specifically, I am interested in how durable the furniture is in everyday use by children, whether the quality justifies the price, and if there are any common weaknesses to watch out for when buying. It would also be helpful to know how practical the furniture is for daily use, especially regarding storage space and cleaning. I would appreciate it if you could share your personal experiences—both positive and negative!

At first, I was also concerned about the durability because our son is really not gentle with his furniture. I am pleasantly surprised at how well the Hemnes furniture has maintained its appearance and functionality, which reassures me. Of course, there are minor dents and variations in the finish, but that hardly bothers us; I see it more as the room evolving along with the child.

We have Hemnes dressers for clothes in the children's room. I like the classic lines, they are easy to maintain and sturdy. The storage space is sufficient for us and well organized. Assembly was straightforward, and the drawers operate smoothly.

Hemnes is fine for us, but nothing special. It is sufficiently sturdy for a children's room, but not designed for heavy use. Be careful with the corners, as they could be problematic for small children.

You pay a lot for a simple design, but the quality is at best average.

That’s a good point. Do you think other manufacturers offer significantly better quality for the same price—especially regarding durability for everyday use in a child’s room? Or is it more about how the furniture is maintained and handled?

The noise when opening and closing could be better.

Can anyone confirm this? We have often heard that the drawers sometimes stick or creak, and I want to avoid that with toddlers. Thanks!
