Hello everyone,
which documents, protocols, or reports related to the electrical installation need to be handed over to the client after commissioning in a newly built house?
The electrician was contracted by the general contractor. There were some measurement issues during the electrical inspection. Since then, I have not heard anything or received any documentation regarding the electrical installation in our new home. Is there a requirement to provide any documents? Or is it mandatory to prepare documentation? Since I became the operator of the electrical system upon handover of the house by the general contractor, what rights do I have to obtain which documents?
Thank you

After a brief introduction at the electrical panel, we received a rather concise one-liner in which the electrician confirmed that the work was carried out properly and had me countersign it. Nothing more.

However, we did not encounter any problems. But what documents should the electrician really provide? If you have occasionally been onsite during the construction phase, you usually have a general idea whether the work was done correctly.

An electrical installation must be thoroughly inspected, and a report must be prepared, which of course must be handed over to the operator. Initial commissioning according to DIN VDE 0100-600 (electrical safety check).

And depending on the complexity of the system, much more should be provided. I wouldn’t want to check hundreds of terminal blocks to determine their purpose.

Documentation in both words and images of the foundation earthing is also part of the required documents. This is an important component of the electrical system and ensures safe operation.

Request everything, including the previously mentioned inspection report. Be prepared for potential difficulties.

Okay. Thank you. We have now been living in the house for almost a year, and I am still waiting for the documents as well as the labeling of the fuse box. (I have taken care of the labeling myself in the meantime)...
