We will soon be making some changes to our living area. I recently read about clay paints. They are said to improve the indoor climate and are especially suitable for allergy sufferers. Has anyone used clay paints in living spaces? Are they really that effective?

Hello gatita,
we have used clay-based paints in the entrance area and were surprised by how well they performed. Since we initially doubted whether these paints would achieve results comparable to conventional ones, we decided to try them first in the entrance area. Additionally, clay paint is said to help regulate indoor humidity, reduce static electricity, and even remove pollutants from the air. Our entrance area looks great, and next, we plan to apply it in our living room. We are really impressed with the clay paints.

Hello weniger,
we found the clay paints interesting for ourselves exactly because of these great properties. However, packaging can always list many positive claims. It is always better to get confirmation from people who have already tried it and gained their own experience. That makes it easier to make a decision that is intended to be permanent or at least long-term. Thank you for your contribution.

In hot regions, there are indigenous peoples who paint their huts with clay to keep out the heat. Conversely, this paint probably also provides insulation. Additionally, it should be 100% environmentally friendly.
I am curious about what shades are available. Are there only natural earth tones, or are colors like blue and green also possible?
Best regards
