Hello everyone,
we could have a laundry chute installed in the new house, but everyone advises against it. Most say that, compared to the benefit, it is simply too expensive. Should we listen to this advice, or what do you think?

It is practical, for sure,

but on the other hand, it means one less opportunity for physical activity in daily life. The same goes for elevators, escalators, and so on. Practicality is good, but a bit of movement doesn’t hurt either.

Don’t take it too seriously.

Hello Jörg,

in principle, you are right, but just ask a housewife who is affected.

Best regards, Danton

I also really like the idea, but does the laundry automatically get sorted into the washing machine? What happens if the son or daughter pushes large or bulky items in there and it gets clogged? The noise and temperature differences between the basement and the attic need to be considered. Nice idea, but personally, I get more use out of a central vacuum system than from a laundry chute.

It is quite an expensive matter; you just have to consider whether you really need it.
