Good morning everyone, I have a specific question for all of you who might have experience with Ikea Brimnes furniture: What DIY ideas or methods are there to customize these pieces in a unique and appealing way? I am especially interested in practical and creative approaches that go beyond just painting. Possible options could include finishing with veneers or films, adding extra components, redesigning handles, or modifications that extend the functionality. If you have any tips or even instructions on how to personalize BRIMNES items, please let me know. Thank you!

Top thread! I equipped the Brimnes bed drawer with LED strips that can be dimmed via remote control – really practical and a cool effect! Additionally, I wrapped the handle recesses with colored rubber bands, which protects your fingers and also looks great. ?️✨ Everyone, give it a try, it’s a lot of fun and makes your home much more personal!

I recommend simply covering the back panels with wallpaper or fabric. This adds depth and creates a unique look without much effort. Additionally, you can paint or decorate the inside of drawers with stickers, so even the less visible areas look great.

I have noticed that you can also play with lighting on BRIMNES furniture. Installing LED spotlights in shelf compartments creates a nice atmosphere. Replacing or adding casters often makes sense as well if you want more mobility.

Great idea, that sounds really stylish! I once did something similar with a small clip lamp, but LED strips are definitely more flexible. Has anyone here had experience with power supply or hiding cables in these kinds of DIY lighting setups?

This is often where I stop – many people try to tinker with technical installations without considering safety. You have to keep in mind that BRIMNES is not designed for electrical attachments. If you plan such projects, make sure to use certified components and ensure safe cable management; otherwise, it can become dangerous.
