ᐅ What features did you include in your house, and what did you decide to leave out?

Hello,

When planning and building a house, you focus on the essentials and the budget. Some wishes get dropped along the way. But certain small luxuries or nice features are important to you, even if they are not strictly necessary, and you end up including them anyway.

For us, a heated conservatory was an unattainable dream. However, we treated ourselves to tiled, walk-in showers, even though they take up more space.

I would love to hear what you have given up and what you managed to include.

Best regards

The problem is that the variety of bathtubs is so extensive that if you don't choose a "standard" option, your chances are very limited.

You are absolutely right... We had a standard bathtub in the rental apartment. 170cm (67 inches) long. But we wanted a bathtub with a centered drain and two sloping seats. So we measured and chose: 175cm (69 inches), because that would also fit in the old bathroom. With the new bathtub, we would actually need 185 or 190cm (73 or 75 inches) to get the same usable length because a lot of length is lost due to the slopes on both sides. For my wife alone the new one is enough, but she is only 1.6m (5 feet 3 inches) tall.

So, an additional living room where a car is also parked? Couldn't that have been planned differently?

What does TB mean?

Did you try out the bathtubs before buying?
Yes, definitely. That’s how we chose our bathtub .

Where did you do that?
When I go to Richter+Frenzel, they only have their own brands. At most other showrooms we visited, there were maybe 4 or 5 bathtubs with a "standard" shape.

I find it really difficult... in the end, it’s a bit of a gamble.

We have a Bette Relax that is 190cm (75 inches) long. Since we are both quite tall, this is the first time I can comfortably lie down in a bathtub. We also tested it beforehand, which is how we decided on this model. I can only recommend everyone to do the same.

Where did you have that done?
At the bathroom showroom the developer directed us to. It’s worth mentioning that we basically have the simplest bathtub … a model from the range of "body-shaped tubs" was sufficient. It might be different for others, especially taller people.

In the end, there was even a credit compared to the bathtub specified in the construction and performance description. So, the bathtub turned out to be a really good choice overall.
