Hello,
When planning and building a house, you focus on the essentials and the budget. Some wishes get dropped along the way. But certain small luxuries or nice features are important to you, even if they are not strictly necessary, and you end up including them anyway.
For us, a heated conservatory was an unattainable dream. However, we treated ourselves to tiled, walk-in showers, even though they take up more space.
I would love to hear what you have given up and what you managed to include.
Best regards

Wow... what an impressive building, except for this part here
A few pictures would be enough for me... if you didn’t live so far away, I’d gladly organize a photo session, I have a wide-angle lens.

Doors have historic monument protection cassette door appearance.

My goodness!!! I'm just a little bit jealous now. And I thought we had equipped ourselves quite well...
Was the price still in the six-figure range? No, definitely seven figures (a 2 in front).

maniac66930 Jun 2015 11:19Haha, yes, a full-time housekeeper... definitely needed for a house this size.
She won’t be living with us, but there is the option of a separate apartment in the basement. Due to the sloping site, there are floor-to-ceiling windows here.
The upper left room in the basement is intended for this purpose. We will install a small kitchenette so the housekeeper can prepare lunch.
Next to the window, there is the possibility to create an opening for a proper entrance door (we would then build a 3-4m² (32-43 sq ft) vestibule in front of it for shoes, etc.).
