Hello everyone, I’m looking for inspiration and ideas for using Ikea Platsa in the hallway. My challenge is that the hallway is quite narrow and a bit dark, and I want to use the system to create as much storage space as possible without making the area feel cluttered. It’s important for me to have a combination of closed storage for shoes and coats, but also some open sections for keys, everyday items, and maybe a small seating area for putting on and taking off shoes. Does anyone have creative solutions or smart design tips for furnishing Platsa in the hallway that are both practical and visually appealing? Perhaps with special color accents, lighting ideas, or modularity? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

I would definitely choose closed modules at the bottom for shoes. Open compartments at the top for keys and coat hooks on the side. A seat cushion on a wide flap or a low module creates a seating area. Light colors work better in a narrow hallway.

This is an important point and requires careful planning of the modules:

- Use shallow units where possible to avoid narrowing the corridor.
- Choose light colors, ideally white or pastel shades, to reflect light.
- For storage at the bottom, I recommend closed doors for shoes to keep things tidy.
- Wall-mounted hooks or hooks on the sides of the PLATSA modules provide hanging space for coats without taking up extra storage.
- Open compartments at the top for keys and everyday items create a welcoming feel and prevent clutter.
- For seating, select a low cabinet with a cushion on top that also offers storage.
- LED strips along the top modules add indirect lighting that makes the hallway feel brighter and more inviting.

This way, the limited space can be used efficiently while keeping the design simple.

Absolutely! And hey, why not experiment with a few small splashes of color? A colorful bean bag or a soft, bright cushion on the bench really bring the space to life 🌈.

Also, it’s fun to try out different combinations: open shelves with baskets look personal and cozy.

And a mirror on the opposite wall from the PLATSA unit visually expands the space and adds more light!

This way, the hallway becomes not only practical but also a real eye-catcher that lifts your mood in the morning 😉.
