Hello everyone, I recently tried to assemble my new Pax wardrobe. Unfortunately, several issues occurred: the side panels are not completely straight, some screws are difficult to tighten, and the doors don’t close properly. My question is: What can I do if the Pax assembly is misaligned? Are there any proven tips or adjustment methods to restore stability and correctly align the wardrobe? I followed the instructions, but somehow everything doesn’t fit together properly. I would appreciate any advice!

It is best to first loosen all the screws, then carefully align the side panels. After that, gradually tighten them again step by step. Also, check if the cabinet is standing on a level surface.

When dealing with a misaligned Pax assembly, it is important to proceed systematically. First, check whether the floor where the cabinet stands is completely level. Unevenness can cause the sides to appear crooked. If the base is level, I recommend loosening the entire frame again, especially the screws on the side panels and the back panel. These structural elements ensure stability and must be precisely aligned. It helps to use a spirit level and, if needed, a protractor to position all sides at right angles. Do not tighten the screws too much until everything is properly aligned. Often, small errors can be corrected by careful readjustment. Important: always install the doors last and check that they close properly. How did you fasten the back panel? This is often the number one source of errors when stability is lacking.

I fixed the back panel with small nails, as described in the instructions. However, it was quite challenging to install it perfectly straight. Maybe I wasn’t completely precise. The floor is relatively level, but not a perfectly flat tile or anything like that. Do you think I should take the cabinet apart completely and start over, or could this be adjusted without a full disassembly?

Basically, I recommend completely disassembling the Pax wardrobe if multiple components are misaligned. If the back panel is unevenly attached, the side panels and other parts often shift as well. The process should be as follows:

- Unhook the wardrobe and take it apart completely
- Align the back panel separately from the side panels on a flat surface
- Nail or screw parts in place only lightly at first to allow for adjustments
- Use a spirit level and possibly angle brackets to straighten the side panels precisely
- Tighten screws evenly, initially only partially
- Install and adjust the doors last

Often, the back panel is nailed too quickly and too tightly, causing tension and misalignment. How did you approach the screws? Did you use a cordless drill or tighten them by hand?

I screwed almost everything in by hand, as I wasn’t in a hurry, but maybe I didn’t always apply enough pressure. Unfortunately, I don’t have a cordless drill. Would it make sense to borrow one for more precise work? And when I disassemble the cabinet, how can I prevent mixing up parts or losing screws?
