Hello everyone, I have a problem with my Malm drawers from IKEA. Lately, they do not slide properly; they get stuck repeatedly and can only be opened or closed with a lot of force. I have already tried checking the drawer slides but could not find any obvious damage. Is there a way to adjust or repair the drawers, or are there special maintenance products I could use? I believe the hardware and slides are the main issue, but I am unsure what exactly to do to make the drawers run smoothly again. Thanks in advance for your advice!

The warping of the wood panels could be possible, since there is a heater nearby. This can indeed cause problems. Wood reacts to temperature and humidity, especially when placed close to heaters, where it can warp or expand. This can affect the drawer slides and may cause them to stick. My advice: first check if the drawers run smoothly by opening them slowly and carefully observing where they catch. If there is warping, it may help to move the furniture slightly away from the heater or improve air circulation. If you need to replace the slides, you can use compatible replacement parts from IKEA or third-party suppliers, which often come with additional adjustment options.
