Hello everyone,

Our heating and hot water are supplied through district heating. At the beginning of this year, we had new thermostats installed because after three people showered, it would take the temperature of our hot water tank a full 8 hours to get back up to 55°C (131°F). The thermostats were still from the 1980s. The hot water tank is 3 years old.

Unfortunately, the installer was not able to understand the instructions. I can understand this, as there are 4 values given per setting:

Technical sketch with dimension lines and tables, AVT 170-210 mm and 255 mm, diagram.

The table with the X seems to be relevant.

So we experimented a bit. But today I again noticed that the temperature is somewhat too low (45°C (113°F)).

Here are some photos of the installation:

Can anyone maybe tell me what I need to set the two thermostats to in order to reach 55°C (131°F)? Or how I should interpret the 4 values per setting...

Best regards and thanks in advance
Ben
