We are currently planning an additional floor on an existing house with many glass facades and are looking for a way to cool the rooms during hot summer temperatures. Several rooms need to be cooled.

What are your recommendations? Traditional split air conditioning unit? Reversible heat pump? Or a decentralized or centralized ventilation system? We would be very grateful for your experiences.

Yes, a classic heat pump. Commonly referred to as an air conditioner.

However, it can still be installed in different ways.

In your use case, shading and a conventional air conditioning system. Cooling through ventilation / mechanical ventilation with heat recovery is generally not suitable for single-family homes and requires a completely different planning approach.
