We are currently planning an additional floor on an existing house with many glass facades and are looking for a way to cool the rooms during hot summer temperatures. Several rooms need to be cooled.

What are your recommendations? Traditional split air conditioning unit? Reversible heat pump? Or a decentralized or centralized ventilation system? We would be very grateful for your experiences.

Active air cooling, of course. Depending on the size of the house and the cooling requirements, it may be necessary to use several units.

A mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery is also recommended but offers little to no benefit when it comes to cooling.

Additionally, good shading is important.

Yes, special attention should be given to that. It saves a significant amount of energy.

Maybe you could present the entire project at once? Including all your thoughts and questions... Otherwise, it will end up in 30 different threads with questions and topics that are actually all connected... 🙄

Do you mean a traditional air conditioning system by active air cooling? Or are there other options available? Thanks!
