Hello and good day,
Here is my first post. Please move the topic if it is in the wrong section.
We are currently building our retirement home as a bungalow designed to KfW Efficiency House 55 standards. So far, we have had houses without technical safety features. Now we are considering installing a possible minimum standard. However, we have no experience with what the minimum standard should be. What do you consider essential for house construction? Perhaps you could also provide suggestions with approximate costs. Please list only the minimum standards. As we know, there are many options that can be expensive, and we do not want that.
Which fire detection devices/smoke alarms do you have?
Thank you in advance!
Best regards

Otherwise, I can only repeat what I said in another thread: Get yourself a dog! The best alarm system and, in the right size, also security personnel in one!I just say (again): Geese!Schimi1791 schrieb:

I’m just saying (again): Geese!Geese are too disloyal; I’d be afraid of them myself. But they are very good as an alarm, that’s true.

Seppl's Häusle1 Oct 2021 21:41For the windows in all accessible areas, such as the ground floor and at balconies and garages/carports, I would consider the security rating. Resistance Class RC 2N would be the minimum for me, maybe even RC 3, but then I would need that everywhere, which can quickly become expensive.

Window contacts also for shading/heating/ventilation/alarms/presence detection and similar functions. You can do that, but it’s not necessary at all. These suggestions are not part of the minimum requirements!!!!

City neurotic.
Bungalow, so two or three smoke detectors from Lidl are enough. Otherwise, a fire alarm system as required by regulations—nothing will catch fire. With the new cooktops, you can no longer forget to turn off the stove; they switch off automatically. A fence with a gate that is always locked, and there is exactly one of those in the entire neighborhood, someone who moved here from Hamburg. Just a city neurotic.

Is this allowed in Germany? Breaking in isn’t allowed either. At least if it happens, the score ends up being a 1-1 draw!

Is it illegal? Where I keep my bear trap in my house and whether it’s set or not is my business, right? The problem is that often the owner themselves, family members, or visitors become the victims of such measures. The bullet from the revolver under the pillow rarely hits the intruder’s backside; more often, due to mishandling or carelessness, it injures those you originally wanted to protect.
