Hello everyone, I am facing the challenge of optimally furnishing my very narrow room and came across the Ikea Pax wardrobe. However, due to its depth, it can be quite bulky and takes up too much space. Therefore, my specific question is: What alternatives to the Ikea Pax are available, especially for very narrow rooms, where storage space is still used efficiently without the wardrobe feeling too deep or wide? I am looking for solutions that can adapt well even in tight spaces, for example through shallower depth or modular design. I look forward to your tips and experiences!

Flexible wardrobes like those from Raumplus often offer shallower options with sliding doors, which can be customized to fit room dimensions.
That sounds very interesting, especially the sliding doors would be an advantage given the limited room depth. Can you share any information about the quality or the average price range, particularly compared to Ikea Pax?

The workmanship at Raumplus is very high quality, the materials are durable, and the sliding door systems operate very quietly and smoothly.

Price-wise, you often pay about two to three times the cost of an Ikea Pax system, but this varies greatly depending on additional features and size. It is definitely worth it, as you often get custom-fit solutions that provide more storage space and convenience in daily use.

I chose narrow, tall drawer cabinets for a narrow room, which can also be easily stacked or used as shelves. This saves depth and gives a modern look.

You can also look for wardrobes designed for hallways at furniture stores – these are often narrower and provide additional storage space.

That sounds good – how do you handle hanging clothes in there? Is it more of a combination of drawers and hanging space?

Are there any particular models you would recommend, especially regarding the vertical arrangement?

When it comes to very narrow rooms, I would also recommend open clothes rails combined with dressers or shelves.

Open systems take up less visual space while helping to keep clothing organized.
