Hello everyone, I am currently focusing on optimizing my Pax wardrobe to create as much additional storage space as possible without having to buy completely new furniture. I am particularly interested in practical adjustments that can be made to the Pax to better utilize the existing space. Possible options include adding shelves, extra hooks, drawer systems, or even interior modifications to better accommodate specific items. What experiences have you had with modifications that have significantly increased storage capacity? I would also appreciate tips on suitable products or DIY ideas. Thanks in advance for your constructive suggestions!

Hey Ernestomu! Great that you’ve taken on this topic! 😄 I really love my Pax too, and I can tell you: there are plenty of ways to create more storage space. For example, I bought many additional drawers that can be easily installed – super practical! They’re perfect especially for smaller items or underwear. You can also install double hanging rods, one higher and one a bit lower, so you use the height twice as efficiently! And don’t forget, the inside of the doors offers a lot of space if you add hooks or organizers there. You can fit a lot in! So, keep at it, it’s definitely worth it! 😊👊

I completely agree with Golekau, Ernestomu! 🎉 For the Pax system, having a variety of storage solutions is really important! Besides extra drawers, I would also recommend baskets that can be placed flexibly inside. Transparent or fabric baskets help you quickly see what’s inside while keeping everything organized. And if you have the space, definitely install shelves – packing items on two levels gives you a lot of additional storage, especially for bulky pieces. Hang in there, it’s really fun to perfect your own system! 😁

First of all: It’s interesting how often the discussion about increasing storage space in Pax wardrobes comes up. However, I think it’s important to also question how much additional storage is actually gained through such modifications. Many suggest drawer systems or extra shelves, but without precise measurements or comparisons, this often remains a subjective assessment. Especially the double hanging rail sounds good in principle, but only if clothes actually stay hanging for a short period; otherwise, it quickly becomes too cluttered. A thorough planning process, including exact volume calculations possibly down to the milliliter level, would be useful to demonstrate clear advantages over new furniture.

Specifically, I recommend: - Installing double hanging rods - Adding drawers - Equipping the door sides with hooks or small baskets This makes the Pax more efficient. Nothing more is needed.

I also placed a few shallow boxes on the top shelf inside my Pax wardrobe, which are perfect for hats and scarves that would otherwise be scattered around. This basically created a third storage area, a kind of vertical space that would have otherwise been wasted. I can only recommend thinking creatively! You don’t have to outfit everything perfectly with Ikea accessories; sometimes simple plastic boxes do the job! 👌
