Hello.
I am considering having a well drilled. Does anyone have experience with this?
Is it worth it? If so, after how many years, assuming it will mainly be used for garden irrigation?
Does anyone know about the costs? So far, I only have approximate prices (about 90-100€ per meter drilled).
Of course, I don’t know how deep the groundwater is.

Without even a rough estimate of the groundwater depth, no one can give you an approximate idea of whether it will be worthwhile. The same applies to the garden size. A 250m² (2700 sq ft) semi-detached house plot doesn’t make much sense unless it’s intended, for example, to fill a 30 cubic meter (7900 gallon) pool.

Hello toxicmolotow... so, our plot of land is 700m² (7,535 sq ft). Where can I find out the groundwater depth?

Most likely the geologist who conducted the site report for your building plot.

Maybe try searching on Google for "groundwater Hessen" and check the first result... just a suggestion.

Should a steel pipe be driven into the ground, or is a borehole planned where a deep well pump can be installed?

I would recommend the latter.
