hello
I have been looking for a weather station for a while. In addition to measuring the indoor temperature, I would also like to measure the outdoor temperature. Furthermore, I am interested in the temperatures in several other rooms, so I would prefer a device with multiple sensors or units. It’s enough for me if all temperatures are displayed on the main unit and each sensor or device shows the current measurement from itself.
I have found a few systems, but they all seem to be cheap, low-quality products from China that aren’t worth the money. Is there something similar available that is more reliable and built to last for years? Does anyone have such a system and can recommend one?

I am very satisfied with Netatmo. On all mobile devices, I have good access to all recorded data. The most important feature for us has become the CO2 measurement. Paired with a Hue lamp, it signals to us when it’s time to ventilate again. At a value of 1300 ppm, a lamp starts to glow red. Really practical. hi
As mentioned earlier in the posts, for example, humidity is not measured with any real accuracy. Most people are satisfied with it because they don’t have a reliable reference. Who actually has a calibrated or at least verified hygrometer lying around at home or work? If I buy a device that shows temperature to 0.1°C (0.2°F), I can expect the temperature to have a maximum error margin of 0.2°C (0.4°F). Otherwise, the display could just show increments of 0.5°C (0.9°F) or no decimal places at all.
The same goes for humidity. If it displays the percentage precisely, the error should not be greater than 1, or 2%, or even 3% at most. A 10% deviation is definitely no longer a measurement but rather a guess.

toxicmolotof23 Nov 2016 15:38We also use Klima Logg Pro from TFA since we moved into our new build. It is completely sufficient for our needs, although you should regularly check the batteries in the main unit.
The system doesn’t handle very thick ceilings and walls made of reinforced concrete well. At least, the sensor in the garage (detached garage 6m (20 feet) in front of the house) occasionally has connectivity issues.

@Payday I read the reviews before purchasing. There are always some dissatisfied customers. I got the impression that some expectations were a bit too high, maybe a few devices were actually defective, and some people just seemed to have trouble handling it. That didn’t stop me from buying since most of the reviews were positive.
And you don’t even know if I have comparison values. I don’t have calibrated reference values, but it’s enough for me if two devices show almost the same readings.
But I admit, Netatmo won’t meet your standards. I didn’t read that one post of yours; otherwise, I wouldn’t have bothered with this one either. 🙂

I am very satisfied with Netatmo. Do you need an account to use it? Does it work independently of the internet and Netatmo servers? What is the wireless range (concrete prefabricated garage)? How long does the battery last?
:-)
@Bieber0815
Is an account required to use it? Yes
Does it work independently of the internet and Netatmo servers? No
What is the wireless range (precast concrete garage)? For me, it is sufficient, but the outdoor unit is only about 10cm (5 inches) from the base station
How long do the batteries last? Mine has been in use for exactly one year, and according to the display, the batteries are still full. (Purchased on Black Friday ;-) )
This product is simply not suitable for someone who has concerns about accounts and external servers. Period. But if that doesn’t bother you, in my opinion, it is a very comprehensive and great weather station.
When looking at Netatmo’s weather map, you can see how many people have stations like this. That was also one of my reasons for buying it. With so many owners, the product must be good. The weather map is freely accessible to everyone, so just take a look. Netatmo owners can decide whether their station is shown on the map.
I’m not a professional in this field, but I am familiar with internet issues. Personally, I find it unlikely that someone would try to hack my account to spy on whether I’m home. Based on the data (CO2 levels), it would be possible, but I consider it too complicated—it’s much easier to check if the lights are on in the house.
And I find it just as unlikely that Netatmo would shut down the servers and make everything stop working.
