Hello everyone,
we are about to pour the screed. Now the question is whether to install the waterproofing membrane or polyethylene sheeting. The screed thickness is 16cm (6 inches). Which option makes more sense?

What? The screed height is 16 cm (6 inches)!? Sweating on the screed? Are you sure you don’t mean the slab?

Probably insulation & screed = 16cm (6.3 inches)

The waterproofing membrane is laid on top of the concrete slab, followed by the screed; that is how it was explained to me. The screed thickness is 16 cm (6 inches). Now the question is whether we should use the Katja sprint membrane or the one designed for torching. Perhaps someone knows the costs for installation and torching, and which type of membrane is suitable or better?

What are you planning to do with the screed? As far as I know, normally no membrane is installed on top of it anymore, at least in our area and all the buildings I’m familiar with.

We don’t have a basement, and the slope (2.5 m (8 feet 2 inches) height difference) runs in the direction of the house, so we want to install a membrane to prevent mold formation later and for thermal insulation reasons. Otherwise, there is no particular reason.
