I’m new here and have a problem.
Three years ago, I had my house completely renovated. Among other things, all three chimneys were rebuilt from the attic floor level using brickwork.
One of them has exposed brick visible.
At this one, water mixed with soot seeps through the joints in some places. So the water is coming from inside to outside. This only happens when it rains heavily for a long time and I don’t have a fire burning.
The contractor who rebuilt the chimneys does not take responsibility and rejects all claims.
After three years, this shouldn’t happen, right?!
There is a concrete storm collar installed to keep out the largest amounts of water.
