I’m hoping to get some ideas on where you would place water access points in the garden. Or rather, where it would be best to lay water pipes now if you might want to have at least partial automatic irrigation in the future. It’s clear that automatic garden irrigation requires more planning. However, I don’t have the time or motivation for that at the moment. It also doesn’t seem likely that this could be done anytime soon. But at least we could plan and lay the water pipes now, so that the option is available later. Attached is a sketch of the current garden plans. The following facts apply:

- The terrace including the roof is already built
- Breakfast terrace and paths are only planned so far, but these should not be the topic here
- The garden is not yet established, and topsoil has not been spread
- Raised planting beds are planned for the upper left area. I definitely want to include a water point there
- To the right of the garage, the ground slopes gently up to the street. Something low-maintenance will be placed there
- Below the house is a light well, and to the right of the light well is a heat pump
- A pump will later be installed in the cistern, so water pipes can be routed from there
- From the cistern there is a conduit leading to the garage for a water pipe
- In the garage, at the upper left, there is already a tap with mains water and a utility sink

The drip hoses do not run directly from the valve box; instead, like with the sprinkler circuits, DN32 PE pipe is used. The XFS drip hose is connected on-site to the PE pipe using Unidelta connectors.
The XFS hose can withstand a maximum pressure of just under 4 bar (58 psi).
Would it make sense to install a pressure reducer directly before the XFS hose (i.e., between the DN32 PE pipe and the XFS hose) or already inside the manifold?

No pressure reducer necessary. Your pump isn’t that powerful. You also have losses from the pipes, valves, fittings, and connections...
With a valve box, you can also install the filter there. If you have multiple valve boxes, I would recommend placing the filter centrally after the pump.

Unfortunately, everything is taking longer than expected. The lawn irrigation is working so far but is still not fully installed. However, it is progressing slowly.

- Can someone explain the difference between the XFS "roll color: copper," "roll color: violet," and "roll color: violet stripes"? Is it really just the color, or is there another reason?
- So far, the plan is to have two circuits for drip hoses (black and gray). These will both be supplied after the distribution box with PE DN32 (1.25 inches). The transition from PE DN32 to XFS will be done on-site.
- Does each drip hose circuit require a separate Rechtsanwältin Bird pressure regulator filter, type PRF? Or is the filter in the valve box enough?
- Is it better to have it in the valve box or at the beginning of the drip hose in a separate small box?
- Is an air intake and release valve necessary in every drip hose circuit?
- Is a flushing valve needed in the drip hose circuit?
- How do you handle plants that require more water than others? Do you create a loop around the particular plant so there are more openings from the drip hose in that area?
