Hello,
I’m new here and found this forum while looking for a solution to my sink problem.
So, here is my issue right away.....
We bought an IKEA sink. Now I have the problem that the water drains very poorly. Our plumber said it’s because of the IKEA siphons and that there is no solution for it.
Now I hope someone here can help me, because it’s really unpleasant and annoying when the water doesn’t drain properly. 😕
Best regards

Thank you, I wish I had read the instructions right away. This no longer has anything to do with the odor barrier.
It's already in place... 😳 . Shame on me... 😉

I will give my husband the task this afternoon and let you know if it worked!

fotokatze4 Nov 2011 23:01Hello Lorie!
From the photos, it doesn’t look wrong. To test it, I would simply remove the pipe connection from the wall and put it in a bucket. If the sink drains without any issues, I would bet that your problem lies in the pipe inside the wall and not in the IKEA siphon.
However, for your plumber, this kind of troubleshooting might be too complicated and time-consuming. It’s much easier to avoid pinpointing the issue and immediately throw out some "nonsense" statements.
You should find another, more competent plumbing partner—there are surely other options available to you. 😉

PS: As others have mentioned, the hose is really long and if possible, I would shorten it, but that probably isn’t the main problem.
