Hello,
I’m new here and found this forum while looking for a solution to my sink problem.
So, here is my issue right away.....
We bought an IKEA sink. Now I have the problem that the water drains very poorly. Our plumber said it’s because of the IKEA siphons and that there is no solution for it.
Now I hope someone here can help me, because it’s really unpleasant and annoying when the water doesn’t drain properly. 😕
Best regards

Maverick185418 Oct 2011 10:46There was once a problem with the trap, but as far as I know, it was only related to the installation and the fact that the trap didn’t fit with the new sink. However, I don’t think it had anything to do with drainage.
Is the hose kinked anywhere? What is the height difference from the drain to the wall drain? Could there be something inside the hose, whatever it may be? Maybe it was there from the beginning?

Lorie_754418 Oct 2011 11:23As I mentioned before, it’s now draining a bit better all of a sudden. However, I don’t think anyone has done anything to fix it!

Maverick185418 Oct 2011 11:47Unscrew the trap and flush it out. If it’s clean, the only solution is probably to shorten the hose. I think it’s too long, and the bend prevents the water from flowing freely and draining quickly enough.
But before you cut the hose, try positioning the elbow fitting in the wall vertically. That should help the water flow faster. At least, that’s what I hope 🙂
I hope that was clear. Unfortunately, I don’t have any other ideas. After that, only Ikea can really help.
