Hello everyone,
I am new to the house building forum and hope this is the right topic for my question.
Our site work is expected to start in June, and we need to dispose of our excavated soil/topsoil.

Soil class 1 without foreign materials, about 130 m³ (170 cubic yards), 180 t (198 tons)

We would like to handle this ourselves.

Does anyone need soil for their property in 16356 Werneuchen / Barnim district?

Or does anyone know of disposal sites nearby where you can drop off your own soil? Or are there other affordable options to dispose of clean, uncontaminated soil?

Thank you for your advice.

Hello Illya

You want to dispose of 130m³ (170 cubic yards) of soil yourself? Good luck. I’m also one of the really tough ones, but that would be a bit too much for me.
You would at least need to own a truck with a tipper body. Price for a used one: 100,000 euros. Then you might be able to find a landfill where you are allowed to dispose of the soil.
If you really want to work hard and dig out the foundation pit yourself, order a 10m³ (13 cubic yards) container each time. I paid about 320 euros per container including disposal. But that was a different situation. Trust me, you won’t save anything compared to a professional earthworker. They have very different prices at the landfill.

Soil from Werneuchen?
Good luck! Do you live in or around Rudolphshöhe?
Have you ever had an analysis done?
Around the airfield, the soil is likely heavily contaminated because the Russians could only launch their fighter-bombers using rocket-assisted takeoff, and the engine fuels were not just kerosene. Anyone complaining about aircraft noise today has no idea what they’re talking about.

Hello Steven,

Thank you for your response. I really appreciate these practical insights. So if I understand you correctly, one could dig the foundation pit themselves (with helpers, about 5 people in total), order a 10m³ (13 yd³) container, fill it 13 times, and be done, right? That would be about 320 euros (when was that? In the NRW region? It’s probably more expensive now) per container including disposal, times 13, which comes to around 4160 euros.

Our house construction company can do this for just under 8,000 euros (we have a quote). So theoretically, about 4,000 euros can be saved by doing it yourself if you are willing to put in the physical work.

I hope I understood everything correctly.

Have a nice Saturday!

@wurmwichtel:
I can definitely confirm the qualities of the Soviet ground-attack aircraft and other USSR technology.

However, the plot and the entire building area are clean and were checked through two soil reports (before purchase) by different engineers, as well as an official statement regarding contamination (no entry in the contaminated sites register – an important detail). It’s not Rudolfshöhe.

My actual question was whether anyone knows a (reliable) company that offers container rental including disposal. That would be a partial DIY effort.

Drive to Berger (towards Tiefensee at the railway crossing). They should know where to dispose of different materials.
