Hello everyone,
We have been living in our newly built house for a little over six months. Today, when I went up to the attic, a wasp was looking at me. I was a bit shocked, and probably the wasp was too. Now I am wondering: Is the roof not sealed properly? Or is it normal to have openings that allow wasps to fly in? It is a cold roof, constructed in a way that the wooden beams of the roof structure are visible.
Thank you very much for your input

Thanks for the answers. Is there any way to make it unpleasant for wasps to nest there?I get wasps trying to nest in the garden shed every year, usually around April/May. If you disturb them right at the beginning—when the queen starts building the nest—she will look for a new spot. I’m at the shed every day, so I notice this pretty quickly.
