Hello,

What are your experiences with a laundry chute? The laundry chute ends in the utility room. Does this mean that the noise from the washing machine can be heard throughout the house?

Thank you very much for your feedback!

Yes, that’s correct. Our laundry chute is therefore made from a tubular sound damper by the company Torx.

We have a laundry chute from the bathroom on the upper floor to the utility room in the basement. It passes through the ground floor (pantry).
Our chute is a PVC pipe with a diameter of 30cm (12 inches). The pipe ends between the heat pump and the washing machine, with the dryer next to it.
In the bathroom, we made a cover out of wood and tiled it. On the underside, I attached a 5mm (0.2 inch) rubber insulation mat. We don’t hear anything in the bathroom. It would have worked without insulation, but then the cover would slam when dropped.

Same construction here. We don’t have any noise issues.
