ᐅ Drain Hose for Washing Machine – Common Misconceptions?

Hi everyone,

I need your help and I’m getting really frustrated. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I can’t get my washing machine hooked up. It’s a built-in Renlig washing machine and the kitchen was designed by IKEA.

The washing machine is placed at the far right against the wall. To the left of it is the sink. The water supply hose is just long enough. I took two pictures. The first one is meant to show how the hose is routed. From the right upper back side down to the floor towards the sink cabinet, then back up again. The second picture shows the connections. I just can’t get the drain hose to connect to the siphon no matter what I try.

Am I missing something or does the hose need to be routed differently? Do I need to use an extension?

I am not familiar with the drain hose of the RENNLIG, but typically drain hoses are longer than shown in the picture. Have you checked if the hose is pinched or blocked anywhere? If necessary, pull the machine out again and measure whether the hose is actually that short. Ideally, someone should pull the hose out of the cabinet while the washing machine is being pushed into the recess.

If I understand the instructions correctly, you only have 90cm (35 inches) of hose length from the left edge of the washing machine. You might need to route the hose through the side panel of the kitchen cabinet instead of underneath.

That's right, since the hose comes out from the top of the machine, it ends up being too short at the bottom. I was thinking about a dishwasher.
