Hi,

is it possible to fit this washing machine

into a similar

cabinet, so that a refrigerator could be placed on top and the washing machine below?

The same question applies to this cabinet

could you fit an oven, a microwave AND a dishwasher from IKEA in the lower section?

My new kitchen is unfortunately quite narrow and the washing machine has to be in the kitchen because of the only water connection. However, if it were possible to arrange all these appliances inside two tall cabinets, that would help me a lot.

Hello,
a narrow kitchen with a dark floor and even darker cabinets wouldn’t be for me. What does the interior designer say about this? It would get even worse with tall cabinets / wall cabinets on the north wall.

Open shelves are for cleaning enthusiasts. The cabinets hung alone on the wall would probably drive me crazy because I would constantly bump into them.
How about 40cm (16 inches) deep base cabinets on the south wall? The distance would be less than recommended, but it might be enough for slim people. You can simulate and test this with moving boxes or something similar. Maybe the countertop there could be extended into a fold-down table, and fold-out seating could be installed. This is just a spontaneous idea without much thought.
Is the Smegma fridge really 54cm (21 inches) wide?
Usually, you don’t need extra space behind appliances for hoses.

Yes, I share some of your concerns about the dark fronts, even though I’ve started to like this black look a bit. But I completely understand the logic that it makes the room feel smaller, so I’m still hesitant. Only the interior design person really fell for it and keeps trying to convince me. Basically, I’m also a fan of very bright, Scandinavian-style rooms.

Yes, all the wall cabinets shown aren’t final; I just wanted to roughly indicate something in the simulator for now. So you also think that any kind of wall cabinets above the countertop would be a bad idea, right?

On the right wall, I agree that something hanging high would drive me crazy. I don’t have any open shelves, though.

It might be that the Smeg is 60 cm (24 inches) wide.

Are you sure about the hoses? Where would a water hose to the washing machine run all the way along the right side? The connection is where the sink is.

You spend every day in the kitchen, so it has to suit you. I find wall cabinets above the countertop only problematic on the left side of this room because the window extends all the way to the wall there, which would create a cramped feeling in the galley kitchen. It would be easier to have the connections on the opposite wall.
The hoses are routed under the cabinets in the kickboard.

It would already be good if the cabinets could really be placed flush against the wall. That would at least gain you 10cm (4 inches).
The argument about the wall cabinets and the window was also my partner’s point, which makes total sense to me.
Are there any other ideas on how to elegantly solve the obvious storage problem without cluttering everything on the right side?

If you don’t want a second row of base cabinets and wall cabinets aren’t suitable either, then the only option is a tall cabinet behind the door or immediately next to it. If 40 cm (16 inches) is too deep, it could be a custom-built 20 cm (8 inches) deep Besta combination, like

Since the ceiling is very high, I wonder if low wall cabinets (40 cm (16 inches) high) above the countertop might make the room feel too cramped. Maybe ask the interior designer.

The idea of 40cm (16 inches) deep base cabinets for the right side is a good one from the Ikea expert, and on the left side, you can install wall cabinets to the left of the extractor hood. This way, plenty of light still comes in.

P.S. Sometimes there just isn’t a “perfect” solution. You have to make compromises. Stretchable rubber walls would be great.
