A question for the experts
During our build, the plumber installed the concealed fittings (after prior discussion about which fixtures, etc.), and we installed the faucets and sanitary items ourselves.

However, with all wall-mounted basin faucets, cold and hot water are reversed.

He says this is a construction fault on our part.
I just checked with the supplier online, and the faucets are only available like this.
Am I missing something, or is he trying to cover something up here?!

The standard is that cold is on the right and warm on the left.

Okay, so who is basically at fault here? Us, because we installed the "wrong" fittings, or the plumber because he installed the pipes incorrectly?!

If there were no specific requirements and he installed the standard setup... then it’s on you! Sounds harsh, but that’s how it is. If you don’t tell the car manufacturer that you want to drive the car in England, your steering wheel will also be on the right side.

Left

If the standard heating is on the left and the plumber installed everything the other way around... that's quite unusual.

Left side

If the standard is hot water on the left and the plumber installed it the wrong way everywhere... that's quite strange.
Is that so?

No idea... I wrote "if" after all. At least to my knowledge, hot water is always on the left side for all faucets.

Quickly searched on Google and found the following in a forum:

According to, for example, DIN 1988-200, version 2012-05, chapter 6.5 on withdrawal fittings, second paragraph:
"When withdrawal fittings for cold and heated potable water are arranged side by side or vertically, the connection to the potable water system for heated potable water must be located on the left or above."

Since the DIN standard is not freely available anywhere, I cannot guarantee the accuracy of this.
It would definitely be worth checking whether the execution planning specifies something different.

Maybe @wrobel can provide further assistance.
