Hello community, I have a question...
We are currently building a house and are in the final stages. Now it’s about the wall finishing. We plan to cover all walls with smooth paint-grade wallpaper and paint over it twice in white. Upstairs, the ceiling was installed with drywall and has been skim-coated. Now I was told that I could skip the paint-grade wallpaper on the drywall ceiling and that just painting would be sufficient.
What do you think? Can I honestly skip the tedious work? I would be very grateful for any tips!
Best regards

So, 7,000 for Q3 skim coating and an additional 7,500 for fleece and painting? Wow, for us, Q3 skim coating including fiber fleece and painting costs an extra 10€/m² (about 0.93 USD/ft²) over the standard Q2. With our total area of all ceilings and walls being 700m² (7,535 ft²), that comes exactly to 7,000.

Knallkörper1 Jun 2017 21:50We paid an additional 5000 euros for Q3 plaster finish. Completely wallpapered with painter’s fleece and painted white cost 6500 euros. 200 m2 (2153 sq ft) of living space. I am still not completely satisfied, as under certain lighting conditions you can still see unevenness. The areas covered with drywall are still the best.
Hey @Knallkörper, since you’re also from Lower Saxony, could you maybe send me the contact details? At that price, I would have it done immediately, and we have 180 m² (1,938 sq ft).
